What is the USEA?

The United States Eventing Association is the national organization dedicated to the education and development of horses and riders in the sport of eventing.

The USEA was founded in 1959 and has approximately 11,500 members in all 50 United States in addition to over 100 international members. The USEA recognizes 260 competitions nationwide.

The organization is a non-profit 501 C (3) corporation and is run by approximately 20 Board of Governors. The USEA also has a permanent staff of 17 who run the day to day needs of the organization from the headquarters in Leesburg, Virginia.

Glossary Term

An element seen on many cross-country courses. They may be up to 11 feet, 10 inches wide in advanced competition, although they are seen at lesser widths at all levels of competition. They can be used individually, or in combinations such as the coffin and trakehner fences.
